Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Clear information. Fair commitments. A safe place to develop. These Terms & Conditions explain how to use the Hoop Force Academy website and the general conditions that will apply when families enrol in our youth basketball programmes in Ireland.
We aim to be transparent with parents and guardians about costs, attendance, safeguarding and what to expect from the academy.
1. About Hoop Force Academy
Hoop Force Academy provides information about youth basketball coaching, player development and related activities in Ireland through hoopforce.academy. For enquiries, email hoopforceacademy@gmail.com.
The legal name and registered business address of the operating entity will be confirmed in the enrolment documentation before any payment is requested. Any contract for a paid programme will identify the service provider, programme, price, dates and applicable booking conditions.
2. Programmes, ages and availability
Our core programmes include Weekly Drills, Weekend Groups and Combo Programme, with additional activities such as Summer Camp, individual coaching, strength and conditioning, tournaments and selected trips. Each programme has its own age groups, schedule, available places and participation conditions.
Placement may depend on a player’s age, ability, readiness, safeguarding needs and available capacity. We may recommend an assessment or trial before accepting enrolment. A place is confirmed only when the academy has accepted the booking and the parent or guardian has received the applicable confirmation.
Core weekly programme prices currently displayed on this website
| Programme | Advertised weekly fee |
|---|---|
| Weekly Drills | €25 / week |
| Weekend Groups | €35 / week |
| Combo Programme | €47 / week |
These are the published programme rates, not an invoice or a current offer to accept payment. The total cost, included sessions, duration and any minimum commitment will be clearly communicated and agreed before a booking is accepted. The Combo Programme currently advertises a minimum commitment of eight weeks.
3. Parents, guardians and players under 18
A parent or legal guardian must make and authorise enrolment arrangements for a player under 18, supply accurate contact and emergency details, and confirm who may collect the player where relevant. Parents and guardians should tell the academy about reasonable support or participation needs through the secure process provided for enrolment, rather than sending sensitive health information through the general website enquiry form.
Players and families are expected to follow the academy’s reasonable coaching, safety and safeguarding rules, including arrival and collection procedures, appropriate conduct and any instructions provided for a particular venue or activity.
4. Joining, booking and confirmation
- An enquiry or expression of interest is a request for information, not a confirmed place.
- Before a paid booking, the academy will provide the relevant programme description, schedule, fees, duration, minimum commitment (if any), payment details and applicable cancellation information.
- A parent or guardian may be asked to provide enrolment information, consent and emergency details through a secure registration process.
- The booking becomes binding only when accepted and confirmed by the academy in accordance with the information supplied at that time.
We will not treat consent to promotional photography or marketing communications as a mandatory condition of participating in ordinary training.
5. Fees and payment
Fees are shown in euros. The final price, billing frequency, due dates, included activities and any additional charges will be presented before a parent or guardian confirms a paid booking. We will not add undisclosed mandatory fees or change an agreed price retrospectively without a lawful contractual basis.
Where an eight-week or other minimum booking period applies, it must be expressly stated before acceptance. Payments, receipts, any recurring-payment arrangement and payment methods will be explained when enrolment opens. No automatic renewal or recurring charge will be introduced without the necessary information and consent.
6. Attendance, missed sessions and changes to timetables
Families should aim to arrive on time and notify the academy as soon as practicable if a player cannot attend. Unused sessions, transfers and any make-up options will be addressed in the programme-specific booking information, with consideration for fairness and applicable consumer rights.
The academy may need to change a coach, venue or session time for operational, safety or unforeseen reasons. We will communicate meaningful changes promptly. If the academy cancels a paid session or cannot supply a material part of the contracted service, we will offer a suitable replacement where agreed or an appropriate refund for the service not supplied, in accordance with applicable law.
7. Cancellations, refunds and statutory rights
A parent or guardian can request a cancellation by emailing hoopforceacademy@gmail.com, identifying the player and relevant booking. The specific cancellation notice and refund arrangements for a programme will be made clear before payment, and must be fair and consistent with Irish consumer law.
Under Irish and EU consumer rules, some distance service contracts may carry a 14-day statutory cancellation right from the date of agreement. However, exceptions may apply, including to certain leisure services provided on a specific date or within a specific period. Whether a right applies depends on the booking. Where required, the academy will explain the right, any applicable exception, how to exercise it and the consequences of asking for a service to begin during the withdrawal period before entering the contract.
Nothing in these Terms removes a family’s legal rights to a remedy where services are not delivered as agreed or are otherwise non-compliant with the Consumer Rights Act 2022. Refunds due under law will be handled within the legally applicable timeframes. We will not impose unfair cancellation penalties or retain payments for services not supplied contrary to consumer law.
8. Behaviour, respect and safeguarding
Players, parents, coaches and spectators are expected to treat others with respect. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, abuse, aggression, inappropriate contact and unsafe conduct are not acceptable. Coaches may take proportionate steps to protect participants, including temporarily suspending participation while a serious safeguarding or behaviour concern is addressed.
The academy’s approach to child protection is set out in our Child Safeguarding Statement. Adults undertaking relevant work with children must have appropriate Garda vetting and safeguarding arrangements before those duties begin. Safeguarding concerns are addressed under applicable procedures and Irish law, not through these booking Terms alone.
9. Health, wellbeing and emergencies
Basketball and physical training involve ordinary sporting risks. Training is designed to be age-appropriate, supervised and delivered with reasonable care and skill. Families should provide necessary information about participation restrictions or support needs through the appropriate private enrolment process. Players should follow coaches’ instructions and tell staff if they feel unwell or injured.
In an emergency, staff may contact emergency services and the parent or guardian, taking reasonable steps necessary to protect the player. Any emergency, medical information or consent arrangements required for participation will be addressed separately before training begins.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence, fraud, or any liability or statutory consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Photography, video and personal information
We will explain any use of player photographs, recordings or testimonials and seek the appropriate parent or guardian permission where required. Consent for promotional use will be managed separately from essential participation information and can be withdrawn as applicable. Please do not film or publish images of other children without appropriate authorisation.
Information collected through the website and enrolment processes is handled in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law, including the GDPR.
11. Camps, tournaments and international experiences
Summer camps, 3v3 events, one-to-one training and trips may have separate dates, prices, eligibility criteria, supervision requirements, consent documents, insurance and travel arrangements. Those details must be supplied before a booking is accepted, and any additional terms must be explained clearly and fairly.
International experiences will not be treated as confirmed solely because they appear on this website. Travelling minors may require additional parental consent, emergency information and travel documentation.
12. Website information and illustrations
We aim to keep programme descriptions, prices and contact information accurate and up to date. Images and videos may be AI-generated or illustrative rather than photographs of an operational Hoop Force venue or an actual academy session. Published descriptions do not guarantee that a particular venue, coach, date or activity is available for immediate booking.
Website text, branding and original materials may not be copied or used commercially without permission, except as permitted by law. Third-party sites linked from this website are operated under their own terms and privacy notices.
13. Service standards and fair treatment
Once booked, training services must be supplied with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with the contract and applicable consumer law. We will consider concerns promptly, communicate material service issues and seek fair solutions. Nothing in these Terms prevents families from using statutory remedies, making a safeguarding report or contacting a competent authority.
14. Queries, complaints and resolving problems
For programme questions, billing concerns or complaints, contact hoopforceacademy@gmail.com. Please describe the issue and, where relevant, include the date and programme involved. We will seek to respond fairly and explain any next steps. If a complaint relates to the safety or welfare of a child, use the safeguarding procedures and, where appropriate, contact Tusla or An Garda Síochána directly.
Irish consumer information is available from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).
15. Changes to these Terms and governing law
We may update the Terms for future services and bookings by publishing a revised version and date. A revised website policy does not automatically change an existing paid agreement. Material changes to a booking will be explained and managed in accordance with the contract and applicable consumer rights.
These Terms are intended to be interpreted under the laws of Ireland, without depriving consumers of any mandatory protections that apply to them. Any provision found unenforceable will not remove the remainder of the Terms, insofar as that is permitted by law.
