Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Hoop Force Academy is an Ireland-based basketball training academy for young players, with programmes including Weekly Drills, Weekend Groups and Combo Programme. We respect the privacy of players and families, especially children under 18. This notice explains how we handle personal information through hoopforce.academy.

1. Who to contact

For privacy enquiries or requests, contact hoopforceacademy@gmail.com. Hoop Force Academy is the contact point for personal data collected through this website. Our full legal entity details will be added when finalised.

2. What information we collect

When you use our contact or register-interest form, we may receive your name, email address, message, programme interest and an optional player’s age group. Website hosting, security and essential services may also process technical information such as IP addresses and browser details. We do not ask for a child’s medical details, identity documents or other sensitive information through our general enquiry form.

3. Children and parents

Our basketball programmes are designed for young people. We ask a parent or legal guardian to make initial enquiries and register interest on behalf of a player under 18. We do not knowingly use children’s personal information for marketing directly to them. Where consent is required for an online service, we follow Irish data protection law, including parental consent requirements applicable to children under 16. Any additional information needed for enrolment, welfare, emergencies or safeguarding will be requested separately and securely, only when necessary.

4. How we use information

We use information to respond to questions, discuss programmes or partnerships, manage expressions of interest, and keep our website secure. Depending on the circumstances, our lawful basis under the GDPR may be your consent, steps requested before entering into a contract, or our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and protecting the website. You may ask us to stop sending non-essential updates at any time. We do not sell personal information.

5. Child safeguarding and Garda vetting

The safety and welfare of children are central to the academy. Hoop Force Academy requires all coaches, staff and regular volunteers who work directly with young players to undergo appropriate Garda vetting before beginning those duties. Garda vetting is processed through authorised arrangements in Ireland and is one part of our wider child safeguarding approach, including responsible supervision, codes of conduct, training and procedures under the Children First framework. A Child Safeguarding Statement and risk assessment will be in place where required before activities with children begin. Vetting information is handled confidentially and accessed only when necessary.

6. Sharing, website services and cookies

Access to enquiries will be limited to those who need it to respond or manage academy administration. Our website may use hosting, WordPress, contact-form, email, security and analytics service providers to process information for these purposes. We will only share information where necessary or legally required. Essential cookies and technical logs may be used to operate and protect the site. Any optional analytics or marketing cookies must be handled according to applicable consent requirements. Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area, subject to appropriate safeguards where required.

Cookie preferences: Google Analytics is optional for visitors in Ireland and the EEA. We use Google Consent Mode to keep analytics storage denied unless you choose “Allow analytics” using the website’s cookie banner. You can instead choose “Reject optional”. Your choice is stored in your browser, and you can change it at any time using “Cookie Preferences” in the footer. This control does not grant advertising or marketing consent.

7. How long we keep information

We keep enquiries only as long as reasonably necessary to answer them and manage expressions of interest, subject to any applicable legal requirements. If you no longer wish to hear from us, contact us to request removal of your enquiry details where permitted by law.

8. Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data protection law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the use of your information, and to withdraw consent where applicable. Please email hoopforceacademy@gmail.com with your request. You can also contact Ireland’s Data Protection Commission.

9. Changes to this notice

We may update this policy as the academy develops. The latest version will be published on this page.
